Calchaquí Valley, Argentina.
TERROIR
Cafayate is an exquisite sub-region located in the south of the Calchaqui Valley. At 1700 meters/5500
feet above sea level, lies Finca Las Mercedes, Plot N°28, deliver an authentic high end Tannat from
the Calchaqui Valley. Sandy alluvial soil, irrigation from the Andes, high sun exposure; low humidity,
and broad thermal amplitude makes Finca “Las Mercedes” a unique terroir in this world.

WINEMAKING
•Concentrated bunches of small grains are manually harvested in 18Kg plastic bins.
•A second hand picked selection is made.
•Pre-fermentative macerations at 8°C in French oak vats.
•Indigenous and selected yeasts are used for alcoholic fermentation – temperatures from 26°C to
30°C- and a short post fermentative maceration process is carried out totalizing.

•Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels where the wine is aged for 15
months.
•The wine is bottled with a slight filtration process and aged for an extra of 6 months.
Colour
Profound black color with dark red notes and thick colored tears.
Aroma
Concentrated. Ripe fruit. Raisins and black chocolate perceived. Delicate coffee and oak notes outstand, result from aging.
Palate
Full bodied. Sweet, ripe and fresh tannins. Delicate with fruity notes. Long and elegant persistence.
