Calchaquí Valley, Argentina.

TERROIR

There are few places on earth where magic really happens. The Calchaqui Valley, home of El Esteco
winery, is certainly one of them. This Valley, located over 1800 meters|6000 feet hidden in the North of Argentina, displays some unique characteristics. Poor alluvial soils; high sun exposure; low humidity; and broad thermal amplitude make the Calchaqui Valley an exceptional wine region.

VARIETAL

White Blend (40% Chardonnay, 15% Marsanne, 15% Roussane, 15% Torrontés, 15% Viognier)

WINEMAKING

• Hand harvested.
• Bunch Selection.
• Use of native and selected yeasts for the alcoholic fermentation process.
• Alcoholic fermentation:
❖ Chardonnay : In foudres of 6.000ltsfrench oak barrels – ageing “sur lies” – Bâttonage.
❖ Marssane/Rousanne/Viognier : in stainlesssteel tanks – Bâttonage “sur lies” .
❖ Torrontés : first third of this fermentation is in contact with 15% of grain grapes,
devatting into 6.000ltsfôudres, to complete an alcoholic fermentation and ageing “sur lies” .

 

Colour

Deep and intense yellow, with green hues.

Aroma

Delicated – Tropical fresh fruit, mineral and elegant. Slight oak presence.

Palate

Intense, fresh – young – with high texture – Great balance between acidity and sweetness in mouth – Pronounced and elegant.
